T-boned another bike

Well i had my group out riding in the canyons on sunday. We all got split up because some people got freaked when a cop passed in the opposite direction and we were going a bit fast. We ducked off on a side road and waited. A few riders went by and i went to catch them. I got up to one and he saw me and was riding ahead of me. Suddenly he pulled off the road (over the lines on the right) so as i went to pass i went over to the far let side of the lane when suddenly for no reason at all he pulled onto the road and did a u-turn. well i was going about 55mph and my tire struck right at his rear set. My bike stopped instantly and i went over the bars and flew about 25 ft before hitting the ground and rolling. Luckly i was wearing my riding boots, jeans, leather jacket with armor, helemt, and gloves. I got right up and threw my helmet as far as i could. I was so pissed off. I didnt break any big bones but i did break 3 ribs and my wrists and right shoulder are still hurting.

The other rider was cited for the accident as he pulled into the road in my direction of travel and for not signaling.

My bike is pretty bad. All the plastics are cracked and the headlight and speedo are messed up. Although im going to get it back together and get right back on it.

I can not stress how lucky i am that i didnt get more hurt. I hit the cement at 55mph and i walked away. It is a true testament to wear your gear especially out here where you dont have to have a helmet. My jacket has 2 huge gashes in the back, i cant imagine how my back would be without it. My frame sliders saved the frame and all the engine components. They did exactly what they were made for and slowly wore down. My other buddy went down 2 days ago with the no cut sliders and guess what? it ripped the bolts and threads right out of the frame of his nice new anny yellow 06 R6.

So yea i am fine but it will be a few weeks before i get everything sorted out. Ride safe out there guys...
