Leaner bike
http://www.suzukicycles.com/products...7/Default.aspx
Well I was gonna get a 600rr but someone got it before me and plus it probably isn't the best one to start on. Do you biker guys think this is a good one to start on?
If you don't please give me a link or name to another one.

it all depends on you. some people will ride a 250 faster than they need to, it's more of a self control thing. you CAN be fine on a 600 if you take it easy, all it takes is a little less twist of the wrist.
get your permit and go take the MSF course, they'll provide a 250cc bike to use for the course and you'll go over all the basics you need to focus on and improve on. then you can try to decide whether or not you want to go with a bigger bike.
as far as that suzuki goes, it looks better than the 250 ninja so I guess it's got that going for it. but are you going to ride a sport bike or a cruiser or something in between in the sport/touring?

i dunno. now looking back i coulda done an R1 and been perfectly fine. I cruz around alot which i probably shoulda just got a cruiser to be honest but an R6 will do. I say get a 600 or whatever. starting at lower cc bikes is hard concept for me to understand. maybe start at a cheaper bike incase of a lay-down. but they all are fast and equally dangerous. a 1000 is just as dangerous as a 600. think about it, by me telling you hey ur much safer on this 600 then on this 1k is silly. they both will do 160+/- mph. the idea of a starter bike isnt based on cc's its based on ur back pocket. can you afford to laydown a 10,000$ bike? if so, a new one is right up your alley. or does your final situation constitute for a cheaper bike that you wont mind watching it get tipped over. either way enjoy!

they offer msf classes at almost every community college around here but you need to sign up way ahead of time, like basically ur not gonna get into one this yr.

I agree 100% with Jay.....
If you have some self control, you will be fine on a 600 or the like sportbike. Like he said, I dosnt matter what you are on, you can get into trouble just as fast on anything you are riding. I started on my gixxer 6 and was perfectly fine, I just rode like a sane person.
If the smaller sized bike is what you really want to get for a starter bike, then please get a used one instead of the brand new Zuk. That things re-sale value is going to be complete shit as soon as you ride off the lot.....even worse than a sportbike....And no one is gonna want that thing.
Just scrounge Cycle Trader for a cheap turd bike to start on, or go get what you really want in the long run and take it easy.

I just learned to ride about 1 1/2 weeks ago when i pulled my 750 off the lot would of went with the 1000 but didnt like the way it felt, anyone can ride the bike just watch the wrist slippage too much throttle lifts the front end up quick in 1st 2nd and almost 3rd .
I am tryin to be a good driver with the bike too guys 1 more point and license is gone.
