Note to self... lay off rear brake in the canyons...

well today i had a scare... i was setting up for a turn in the canyons and didnt engine brake enough so i had to compensate by braking. I hit the rear too much causing the rear to lockup and drift sideways. My MSF course saved my ass today. Normally someone would probably let go of the front causing the rear tire to snap back to the other side causing the wiggles and resulting in a highside. Well as taught i held on to the brake until i came to a stop on the other side of the double yellow lines about 8ft from the edge of the road which has no guard rail and has a 100ft drop off... damn tire has like no tread left so its time for a new one after this scare. I replaced the rear pads and reblead the rear system a few days ago so i wasnt used to the rear feeling yet.

So all in all the MSF saved my ass and my bikes... im making mount for the camera so you guys can see this road... its freakin nuts

that's a bad feeling when the back tire skids and starts walking out. I've done it once so far, stayed on it like you said and it was all good. good way to get the heart rate up real quick.

Ya when goin thru curvy roads I try not to use the rear breake all to much. I already had one scare flyin down a unfamilier road and came up on an intersection and had to grab the brakes for all they were worth. Had the same thing but luckily I didn'y get sideways, just dragged the tire a bit. Brian was there to lol
