your gear takes the damage not your skin...

My buddy who recently had a wreck would be dead if it wasnt for his helmet... this is how the helmet looks now... pitures just dont do it justice...

Front forehead of helmet...

Lower right chin area of helmet...

back left side of helmet...

Front shield where you can see the white paint from the car where the helmets shield hit the hood...

Now lets think how much worse this would be if his bare head hit the hood and the ground... he would be dead... Wear your gear... this is why they make it.

that scrape right above the visor looks like it went pretty deep! that would've taken a nasty chunk outa the face!

my take is that natural selection will take care of the people that choose not to wear their gear, even for short trips. I almost died one street over from my driveway!

yah the short trips is where people always get it and usually within 5-6 miles of there home EEK!
