i personally do ont like the yamaha headlights, but i do liek the small exhausts on it and the new gixxers. also, that bike is too expensive, especially for a 600. i'd rather go with either a 04 gsx-r600 in black and orange, or a stunted out f4i with mxd. and db bars.

gotta pay to play

Obviously it dont matter much how much it is when half are reserved and the rest are guaranteed to be sold

Theres a reason why you don't see to many r6's left in showrooms the year after or towards the end of the season for that matter

Bikes

The new R-6 is a cool ride-lotsa neat toys to choose from right now! However; I've got my Repsol for street/trackdays and my TLR for racing-don't plan on partin' w/either one. I am considering the ZX-14 for 2 up running when the gf doesn't wanna ride her bike.

Race tracks

My fave track is Texas World Speedway-2.9 mile roadcourse that actually goes outside the 2 mile oval(33 degree banking!). We also race at Hallet in OK., Oak Hill a 1.8 mile tight technical course in Henderson Texas. NPR in La. sometimes. Road Atlanta is also a blast(only go there for the GNF's)-running through the old "gravity cavity" was somethin' to experience. A new track was just completed here about 20 minutes from me called Houston Motorsport Ranch-I'm gonna try a track day there soon. Unfortunately we aren't racing there this year due to some stupid politics/personalities in the two organizations. I race my TLR, the Repsol gets excercised on track days and race practice days. I also use the Repsol for commuting, SMR's etc... My gf loves to ride, has her own "baby ninja", but sometimes she just wants to be a passenger(how we met). The ZX-14 is reported to make 195 or so at the crank, and will not be limited on top end(rumor). I sat on one at the Houston Motorcycle Show-very nice!

who the hell would want a zx14, just like the 1300 busa. 1000's would smoke em up to 140-150 the the bigger bikes go. the 1000s actually have more hp

read first!

I said I'd take the ZX-14 for - 2 UP! The gf doesnt enjoy the position or the seat on the Repsol. The 14 is for street only. I'll gladly run any road anywhere, short of the racetrack you won't lose me, even 2 up on the 14 and probably not there either-ask anyone i race or ride with. If you're carrying that much speed on the street it's time to hit the track. I love a fast SMR just like anyone-BUT-it's about the rhythym and using the bike, and enjoying the road at about an 8 tenths pace-gotta leave room for things that are unexpected-animals debris etc.... A 2 up ride with a good passenger is an absolute blast. A Repsol isn't the bike of choice for this. 1 up, a litre bike is where it's at for me. That's why they make different bikes. I got a friend who rides a 3 year old interceptor on the street. His track bike is a Gixxer Thou, it's all about what you want from the ride, so before you dis someone elses choices consider what they want from the bike-just because it isn't for you makes them neither wrong nor stupid. The challenge of wrestling a bigger bike and making it work can be a reward in and of itself. I road race my TLR, yeah, new bikes are faster, lighter, better-I take the Repsol to track days. But I love the bike and the challenge and the reward is starting 41st and finishing 11th, and showing V-twin pipes and noise to everyone I passed. I'll not part with it. By your way of thinking I should give that up and buy a new Gixxer-ZX-10 etc.... I think not. Enjoy biking-revel in the diversity. it's a cool time to be into bikes, there are a lot of cool toys to choose from. But do it for yourself, if you're in this to look cool you miss the entire point.
