Grand Prix GTP
I had no clue how fast those cars are!
The wife and I were driving out to Omaha this past weekend, and somewhere west of Des Moines we come across this older guy in a GTP. Could'nt figure out if he wanted to play around or not untill i droped the charger to 3rd and goosed it a little.
He took off like a rocket, did'nt waste me but definatally got about a 3/4 car length lead on me. for the next mile or so it was back and forth, neither car was giving up any lenght. I finally took him when we hit 140 (I think the Daytona charger has a governer set at 135 or 140). I shifted up to 5th gear, and i think he heard it because he almost right away backed off ( I was about 1/2 a car length ahead of his nose).
Fun race, we both gave thumbs up, and i was more shocked than anything. Later that night i found out the GTP's have a super charger in them, makes me wonder if he could have taken me outright but he just did'nt want to go any faster.
My little story :)
This was also the first time i've had the car up that fast, was great fun!
