One Kill, One Death.
...and quite a scare from the police.
SO i had a color guard competition in taylor, and i was running late, and i was hungry and tired as well. i am barreling down I-94, with the windows down(defroster decided to not work, again) and im so frigidly cold, i cant stop shaking. i pass two state troopers going 100mph. i seriously thought i was boned, one got behind me, turned on his lights, and pulled me over. "im so boned" i thought to myself. i didnt know what the consequences were for going 30 over the speed limit. he walks up to my car and only asks for my license. he asked me if i knew why he pulled me over, and i said, Why, sir?" "you were going pretty quick there." says the trooper. he takes my license back to his car, and comes back and tells me to drive slower next time, james. i thanked him and i was on my way, late. thank the jesus he didnt give me a ticket. i think it might have been my AFJROTC uniform, maybe he thought i was actually in the military. either way, very cool cop.
during the scheduled lunch break, i went to Arby's and kinda sorta got lost coming back, and what decides to pull up behind me than a NICE pontiac car. it had a 421 and through some research i have come to believe that it was a 66 pontiac bonneville. im not 100% sure on that though. i switched lanes, and slowed down, came to a steady cruise in second at approx. 4500rpm. he pulls up to me and i kinda jump the gun a little, but let off, then nail it. i begin to gain on him very slowly, then i had to shift, and he jumped ahead of my by a nose, and it stuck there, then through 4th i slowly gain on him again. he had to let off because a coca cola van. i wasnt too sure who won, it was pretty damn close. he siad i had a pretty quick mustang, and i said thanks and told him what it had in it and he was a very friendly older man, with what looked like his grandson. very nice race. my favorite race so far.
then the bad news...
as i was on my way to murrays later that day, a 2nd gen camaro, a nice red color, appears by my side. its on like donkey kong. we catch a red light and stage a little but, and i totaly bust on that part, totally. my bad. i was angry. i dont know if i would have beaten him or not though, because he was slowly gaining on me. if i had hooked good and had a good take off, instead of bogging down, i probably stood more of a chance. i should work on my shifting and staging. we hit traffic and he turns left as i go right.
