Ate up a Stang...

I raced my friend Justin's 92 Fox GT this afternoon on Highway 49 headed towards Charlotte from Lake Wylie. I was crossing over the bridge and he pulled up beside me and waved at me got right up beside me. When everything was clear we slowed to a stop just as the bridge ended, I dropped it into 1st and gunned it. I stood side by side with him until 50 when I began a slow pull on him. I didn't gain much on him til we were banking on about 110 when I took it all the way down to the floor and jumped to 130 when I left him completely. His Mustang's strong, but wasn't strong enough to pull away from me.

I dont race full throttle til I'm in last gear. I've always been that way.

What's the reasoning behind that?

every vehicle ive ever raced in seems to have a strong top end if i give it 3/4 throttle til last gear and give it everything shes got. im gonna try full throttle to max on the car when i get the new radiator and cooling fan in it though.

Interesting.....I find I run all my best et's and traps when I have it nailed to the wood. You might want to try that next time, I'm just tossing it out there..

It feels faster, that's the keyword right there. The only time you might need to only put it at 3/4 throttle is when you launch so you don't just burn out, but then you floor it right after.
