i take out the "gauge-o-matic" on WW last night...

i guess i'll share a story... i've had some good races lately, so i'll share one with you guys from last night.

so i'm cruising southbound on woodward last night when a rather beat up looking black foxbody with a saleen wing motors up next to me. as we cruise along, i look over his car and notice that this guy has more gauges in his car than a 747. he's got a gauge cage, monster tach, and three more gauges plus some digital readout thing (i'm guessing some sort of A/F meter). this thing sounds mean as hell when he gets on it, but at a sedate cruise it's pretty mellow. so either this car isn't as fast as it looks, or it's a sleeper.

as we continue rolling down woodward, he pulls up next to me and gets on it, trying to entince a race... but we are around 13 mile at this point and there is no way in hell i'm going to race there with all the cops that were out last night. he pulls ahead, and i see him giving the "jerkoff" motion while talking to his friend, so naturally i'm pissed. lol.

so i stalk him further down woodward, and once we get down past 12 mile, i start pacing him and trying to get him to go. he won't even look at me. i'll speed up and slow down next to him, staring at him the entire time... but the guy still won't look at me! the guy in the passenger seat looks over at me, so i crack a big smile and goose it. driver is still stonewalling. who's the jerkoff now? :h

i continue my relentless onslaught of taunting until finally, jut past 11 mile or so, he gives in and drops it into second.

it's on!

i downshift and pull next to him, and blip the throttle to get him to go... and he does. so i let him leave first, and he pulls a car on me.
i immediately reel him back in and pass him before i even hit third. i put the car into the rev-limiter (i need a shift light in a bad, bad way!), bang third with a tire chirp, and continue pulling away before we hit traffic again. the guy immediately bears right to get onto 696 and doesn't want any more humbling than he's already had.

Nicely written! :smt023

I think I've run that guy once myself; similar outcome except he was with his g/f and their mouths made little round 'o's as Max left.

Better to spend the bux on speedparts - big tachs and a pillar pods just slow ya down.
