Lightning and Corvette

Both were on Woodward.

I was actually just crusing around minding my business and the Lightning got next to me and goosed it a bit. I opened my exhaust cut-out and he must have heard that. He took off and I hit it a split second afterwards. He must have been stock or fairly close, because I pulled on him pretty hard. By the end of 2nd he was a car or two behind and by the middle of 3rd he was at least double that. At the next light he asked me, "What the hell is that thing?" I figured if he didn't know, me responding with "a turbo Dodge" was enough to satisfy his curiosity. He came back with [redneck voice] That's a fast little bitch! [redneck voice/] He was cool though. He tried getting me to go ahead, but about 3/4 mile up the road I saw a cop had someone pulled over, so I was for sure done.

The Corvette was a little different. I had the cut-out open next to him already as a "just in case" thing, which must have provoked him. He took off up the road way ahead of me. We were both well in front of traffic with no signs of anything in front of us, but he was crusing down Woodward at about 70mph ish. I'm not sure what his thought process was on that, but whatever. I got next to him and dropped it to 3rd. Just like the Lightning, the 'vette punched the go-pedal first and we were off. Now 70mph in 3rd gear for me is about 4000RPM or so. Full spool is at about 3150ish. (I readline at 6k and fuel cut is I think 6250, just for an FYI) Either way, at 4000RPM spool was pretty much instant. The same results were acheived with this race. The guy was cool though. I let off and he came by with a huge smile and his face and his thumb in the air. I got to the next light and got next to him, but his music was WAAY too loud and he wouldn't look over to talk.

This was before things were finished obviously, but you get the idea I guess

This was when I was riding around with my 15's on the front and rear. I now have the same 15's with drag radials on the front, but the rears are stock 17" SRT wheels.

This is a pic. from when I put the IC on back in March. I'm the only SRT in the area with one like this as opposed to one that fills up the whole front.

Another one just for reference. Right is the turbo I've got (exact size, mines Garrett not Turbonetics) left is stock

I guess not. He came up from behind too, so he could have easily seen it.

Not sure actually on the year. It was definitly an LS1 motor, but I by the time I got up to the light he had stopped at after the race, he was already rolling again so I couldn't see which wheels he had. Other than that I don't know how to tell different years apart. If I had to guess, I'd say about '01 or so.

I'm not sure if he was stock or not. I know he had some visual things done to the car, but I don't know if it stopped at that. It was a black convertable that had a "speedster" type cover over the back seats with the top down. The guy looked to be mid 50's or possibly a little older. All gray hair with a beard.
