Hmm...
1) Max had consistently posted hi 12's last year with a PB trab of 110MPH. Please note that was last year; he's a tad quicker now.
2) I guaran-frickin'-tee you there are faster cars on the Street; I've studied them and pretty much leave them alone. The guys who know they're fast typically don't run all that much - it's the guys who think they're fast that are usually workin' it to take on Max.
3) FWIW - with few exceptions - I'm tippin' in second, which means the other guy decided to run me - not the other way around. Like the SRT Crossfire last nite when all I was doin' was goin' to the copy shop. Max trounced him rather soundly; as he should a low 13 car.
4) The stories are not embellished - they don't have to be. They're all factual - and are posted here for entertainment value.
5) As for what constitutes fast...
Without VHT and without the benefit of a big end to run folks down, the Street is limited to 6-7 seconds of run-whatcha brung. If a guy is slow on the uptake, or blow his tires away - he can get trounced by a car that's a half second slower. Hell - I've run door-to-door with a guy who claimed 10.90's outta his big block Ford...For about two seconds. For there to be a significant differential on the Street, you need a full half-second plus disparity in timeslips to easily choose a winner.
6) As for what the car is capable of...
Do keep in mind that max has beaten 12.5 cars at the track. While they may be capable of 12.5's, the driver didn't bring it that day.
While it's about fast - you CAN get beaten by a car with less HP and a slower timeslip. My favorite question (after a good run) is:
Is that supercharged?
Nope.
I get that a lot.
