Kill Story: 6.0L LS2 GTO
I made the mistake today of putting my stock wheels and not nearly wide enough street tires back on today at work to try and save some life on the drag radials. Like clockwork, the first thing I do once I left work was take a drive around to see how bad the 215/45/17 ContiSportContact tires were going to be.
Before I go on, let me briefly say that I spin through second. And it isn't the kind of spin that you have to argue with someone about if you heard a tiny chirp. It's full on tires begging me to let off the gas spin.
So, I pull up to a light 2 lanes over from a 6.0L GTO. We both hesitate off the light to see if the other will go, and he takes the jump first. I get on it immediatly, but it takes a second for my turbo to spool up. As I already mentioned, first and second gear let him pull away like my car was stock. By the end of my 2nd gear, he had a solid 4/5 cars on me. I hit third and the car pulled like a 13 year old in a dark room with a sock. By the end of third, I was just short of being even with him but had a TON of momentum to carry into 4th. There was a car a good distance ahead of me in my lane, but I let off and he followed suit. I realize street racing is stupid in itself, but I do draw the line at swerving from lane to lane.
So that was that. I talked to the guy at the next light briefly. He said his car was stock and asked if mine was. I'm sure it made him feel better when I laughed and said no. Either way, for a stock car I was extremely impressed at how it moved. I've been a fan of the GTO since they were anounced, so I was pretty happy to have a run-in with one.
Chuck, I tried thinking this story out better but gave up on it. I just can't compete with your story telling. From now on I'll send you a PM of the details, and you can give everyone your rendition of my story.

Now I'm glad I didn't go say "Hi"! Makes sense why that's his license plate on the bike too, ha

You did a pretty decent job on the story, actually - the sock visual is pretty disturbing...
GTO's have a ton of torque down low, but tend to fall off a bit at the upper revs; your car is the opposite. Makes for an interesting run. I've run a lightlhy modded 6.0 and give up a half length off the line, but take it back (and some more) by the time Max is in third.
