New times
Went to Milan today.
12.8 @ 112
Someone had a portable weather station. The correction for the humidity put the dragway at 6,000 feet above sea level by my last run (10:30AM) which is ironically when I got my two best times. The day started at 2,500 feet above sea level at around 9AM. There were some serious bracket racing guys who pick their numbers based on information from that portable weather station thing. It's pretty crazy...but I guess it better be for $600.
Anyhow. I'm not overly happy with that time, but it'll do for now I guess. I'll get back to the track sometime on a less humid day and have another go.
I certainly wasn't the only car suffering though. There was a TT Corvette that was down 10mph from his norm, and another Vette that was down 6mph. (They're the ones that told me about the crappy conditions. I was worried something was wrong with my car)
I also need to learn to drive/launch the car better with the Quaife LSD. I just had it installed yesterday, and didn't get the car back from the shop until 12:08 this morning, so I had no time to practice with it or try it out at all. My 60' times were actually worse than without the LSD!

Holy shit that is some shitty density alititude. This fall you ought to be able to get some way nicer numbers than that between getting cooler temps, less humidity and learning to launch.

Yeah I know. That's why I'm not too disapointed. I figured it was going to be much easier to launch with the LSD. I either bogged the crap out of it, or I spun through first. For my best two runs I stopped trying to launch altogether and just laid into it the whole way through first.

Only problem with that is how much worse the track gets for traction in the winter. My 60's go up but my ET would still drop a little. I want to go to Joliet soon. Cement, mmmmmmmm

Those are some good times!
FWD's post up high traps relative to their ET's - a 12.8 @ 112 is pretty good, to be honest. Turbos are not as sensitive to DA as NA cars, so while you gave up a few MPH - you didn't give up as much as you'd think.
Work on yer suspension and tires to eke out a few more tenths - don't worry about the trap, as it will come with better air.
Nice meetin' ya, BTW!

NHRA has a correctin of .9702 for E/T and 1.0281 for MPH at 5,800 feet above sea level for a turbocharge vehicle. As I mentioned to a few people last night, the track in Denver, CO is at roughly 5,800 feet. There is a guy I know out there with a very similar set-up who said to run that time you would need drag radials and 375hp (give or take), which is right where I should be) SRT's with 375hp around this area who have ran at Milan and/or Lapeer (I won't count Norwalk because it's such a nicer track (read: traction)) have actually dipped into the 11's with slicks and a good driver. I don't plan on getting slicks and I don't think I'm quite good enough to get down there even if I were to buy them.
I do agree that FWD cars get higher trap speeds for a given E/T than other cars. On a nice day I'd expect to see about a 12.3/12.4 @ 116/117 or so with a decent 60'. I also agree some suspension upgrades would really help my launch, but a lot of the SRT guys breaking axles are breaking them once they lower the car. I don't care enough about track times to worry too much about it, so we'll just see what happens. I do plan to get back to the track on a nicer day and see what happens. I'll post results once I do.
It was nice finally meeting you last night. I saw your yellow Mach the other day when I drove by. It's really one of my favorite Mustangs ever made. I like your bike too, different but definitly cool. I'm sure I'll see you again out there.

haha, sorry Dave. I've loved the newest Mach since I read about it well before it came out.

Back when I was futzing around with the 2.2 Chryslers (80's), the trick track setup was to run a limiting strap on the front suspension and jack up the back of the car using spring blocks. Wild Bill ran a Shelby thataway and clicked off high 11's with stickies at Milan.
