"hooked up" Honda civic vs the Firebird

So after waiting all day to race someone, Im merging onto Floridas turnpike. When I see a weed wacker with neons underneath go flying past me, he stays a couple hundred feet in fronna me. I was catching up slowly but surely right around 70 mphish I hear his furious 1.2 liters of rice come to life. He was an easy 250-300 feet away, I gunned it the instant I heard his engine. All of a sudden 250 feet away didnt seem to far away. I was catching up like wild fire, I went roaring past him at around 115 mph. He looked over in shock and tried to catch up. Failing. He zig zagged through traffic tryna catch up. I got off at my exit and I see his blue lights coming up from behind, he revvs again and everyone is looking at him. I rev and its blistering loud, people look over at me with mouths dropped. The light turned green and I launched my Firebird so hard it slammed me in my seat and I fish tailed out of the intersection. The honda comes up next to me, 25 mph run. He floors it as do I, I instantly put 2 car lengths on him, by 60 mph hes wayyyyyyyyy to far back for me to even see him. Next light hes next to me and says "Nice man but its not fair you have a V8" I seem to be saying this alot lately but I told him it was a V6. He was like "oh damn man that thing sounds sick" Said thanks and we said our good byes and rolled away.

So far Ive only lost to a few cars, in my V6 firebird. I ran an LT1 and a 2003 Stang GT, so I have a V8 running 3.8 ;D.

Havent gone to the track yet, Ive done drivetrain, exhaust, intake, pcm, ignition, cooling and a few other mods. Nothing major yet, I think Id run a good mid 14 maybe? Im not sure but it took a mustang GT all the way to 115 mph to pass me after I put 2 lengths on him and he had some exhaust work done.

Depends what year GT it is. Our cars fall on their face at about 80 mph and although 94-98 GT's have about the same hp rating, they still have two more cylinders thus they have more high end torque and are able to pull away.

A 99-04 GT will walk all over a 3.8 fbody stock for stock though.
