To Brian, the Gill, and other Sportbikers...
alright.
Gauntlet down.
After y'all walked me the other day - I hadda retaliate.
Went out and bought a platform to run sportbikers with...
A Kaw triple, circa 1975. three cylinder air cooled two stroke. The most fearsome bikes on the road - still.
When I'm done - it won't be stock, and it oughta be quite surprising...
I'll keep all y'all posted.

congrats on the bike but its going to take a bit for a 2 stroke to keep up with the 600's top end... bottom end you shouldnt be bad

ummm...it's kinda the other way around:
http://www.kawasakitriplesworldwide.com/#begin
A lightly modded kaw triple runs 11's, and a popular mod is to stuff a triple into an FZR 600 frame so's to make the 600...faster.
I've bought an H1, which is the smaller of the two - a 500. I'm going for the streetfighter look - the black and white pic on the link. With pipes, reeds, and a road race port job the bike should have about 100HP at the rear wheel; with a nitrous kit adapted from a snowmobile there will be 150+ on the pavement.
Soo...I'm thinkin' the 600 is the bike that will hafta do the worrying...

About the comment about the bike running 11's that followed the comment about the bike not keeping up on the top end. The 1/4 mile barely starts to skim the top end for a bike. Go look up the track times for a hyuabusa and a GSXR 1000. Fine example of the 1/4 mile not touching the top end for a bike, those two bikes run damn near the same 1/4 mile times and the Busa definitely has more top end. A frined of mine had a Yamaha V-twin cruiser bike, it ran low 12's in the 1/4 but definitely had no top end. The Lightning trashed it from a 60 roll screwing around on the interstate. He pulled up next to me joking around and I didn't want to play, finally I bit, imagine my surprise and the surprise of the other guys we were traveling with when the truck put bus lengths on him instantly around 110.

I'm too old to chance fate at a buck fifty on a 30+ year old bike, so I'm building it to do the stuff I normally do - boulevard shutdown stuff.
HP is HP; you show up with 100 at the rear wheel and I've got 50% more - the outcome is academic. I'm gonna get a kick outta doin' it with a weedwhacker motor, tho...

my bad, havent done much research on them. They look cool as hell though. I personally love the street fighter look, but only in black. I do know however that the 03-05r6's stock are capable of a 10.9-11.1 so i dont know about chasing you down as much as neck and neck. Also gearing has just as much to do on the street as hp does, -1 in the rear helps with the lack of torque to get up and go a lot better then stock :smt025
