^^ yea crotch rockets don't have much top end, they are fast but don't get movin REALL fast for a while. Like if I raced a zo6 or viper, anyhting that will hang somewhat with a bike, I'll prolly win the lower speed race up to about 130ish and the car will blow by me and keep goin.

I'm thinking of changing the gearing on mine after tonites ride. I was beatin on it and realized my first gear tops out at like 78 mph, thats fukn useless on the street, this bike is geared realllly tall for this engine to. When some kids ask if my bike is fast so i nail it and top out first, and they ask if i was in second, that's just not right..

Isn't even that fast until I hit super rpm's lol

There any practical modifications to change that?? So that the bike is wicked quick in every gear and especially the top end?

Engine mods, the most common thing is exhaust, power commander(lets you download different fuel maps for diff exhausts and boosts performance a bit)ignition advancers, air filters, jsut basic shit. Not to many people tear into the engine all to often. But with my bike the stock exhaust is very restrictive and people have been seeing gains of about 15+ hp from full exhaust and a custom map which is quite a good # on a bike.

My bike has about 106 at the wheel i think, couple people on the boards are up to like 120 which is huge for a 600. Sometimes you get people out there with nitrous and the occasional turbo, but if you want a fast straight line bike you get a 1000.

Just by changing my sprockets, like i prolly would go -1 in front +2 in the rear, my bike would be a whole new bike, whoopin some 1000's up until about 100 would be my guess.

So for straight line acceleration just go out and get yourself a litre bike. But with mods you can pretty much achieve anything out of a 600 up to a certain point.

Sounds all to much like what you do with cars.

These maps only work with the new fuel injection. One more question, why did fuel injection seem to come so late?

Ya I think its really fugn stupid when I see 600's with extended swingarms, jsut man up and buy the 1000.

I'm not really sure why they waited on FI, but all I can say after owning both is I'm never going back.
