Feeling real manly, when all of a sudden...

a Mitsubishi Eclipse ends up beside me at a stop light. This actually has less to do with racing than the average reader might think. The fact is I had a teddy bear that a girl had just given me attached to my mirror and I was blasting away this awesome heavy metal girl group which I had just been introduced to. It was night-time and I had the inside light on, digging for a pack of gum because I had just finished eating and leaving my mom's house. I really didn't think anyone would try to race a guy with a teddy bear open to view. Ho, ho, so maybe I provoked it a little bit and maybe he did too. Except I had my music up from even before we made it to the stop light. I turned it down so it didn't bother anyone... he on the other hand felt the need to turn his up and overshadow my thoughts, my muffler and anything that might have otherwise made noise at the intersection.

I pushed the gas pedal from the stop light and the roar of the engine was apparent... it must've taken him a good three seconds to understand what was going on and by that time I had figured he didn't want to race, so I backed off my throttle not wanting to disturb someone who had no intentions. This is where it becomes icky. He gets on the throttle and leaves me in the dust. Of course I am not accelerating and when I hear the car I just kick the throttle and accelerate past him. At the next turn off he was gone and I've never been more confused after what I thought was a race. Generally, I try to talk to the people for a little bit to see what's up, but yeah, so much for the usual. To each his own, maybe one day I'll get to chat it up with the guy and ask what happened.

Yeah, you said it. But shortly after said incident it feels like my wheels are slipping now. Whenever I go around a turn I can feel it, and when I go into a decent-sized pot-hole my rear-end lets loose. Any f-body owners experienced anything like it?

its called torque.. i hear our F-bodys have an issue with that.. maybe theres a recall or somthing. I think they go in and remove 4 of the cylinders and your all set... no more tire slippage!

Yeah, I know what torque is and that's not the problem. It isn't the first V8 or first anything that I've owned. Besides that, I have never had a problem before going around a turn at ten miles per hour. I'll give you credit for trying to say something to belittle me anyhow though. Anyway, the problem will be fixed sometime this evening, my brother is taking care of it. Thanks to everyone who at least tried to help, much appreciated.

what did he say the problem was? Cuz im dealing with the same thing, i always feel like i have a lack of traction on some corners and sometimes when i hit a pothole on the freeway. I thought it was that i just needed new tires or something like that.

Before I brought it over to him I took it out once more. I didn't take the time to notice it before, but it is the right turns that the car slips on. What about yours? He said it could be a few things causing the problem. If he comes up with a solid answer and solution I'll post it back here.
