Proabably my last race of the season - and I LOST!!!
Last sunday it was actually warm and nice out so we thought we would take a family cruise. After riding for a couple hours it was time to head home.
Once home it got kind of boring sitting there. So I get the idea and run it past my wife. Let's fire up the cars and race. We head to the place
The place BTW -Was once a very notorius street racing spot but has since had houses sprout up on the road, you can still race there, but don't hang around all day. I'm lucky that I can go home since I live really cllose. Actually.
Anyway- At the spot.
I'm driving my 82 z28 - my wife is in the Firehawk
We wait till no traffic is coming and line up, I'm running my old M&H racemasters so I proceed to warm the tires up with a smoky brake torque (not that I needed the extra traction, but smoky brake torques are fun sometimes).
My kid does the count off - we leave on 3
I give the old 82 everything it has, run it to redline, bang the next gear catch rubber and do it all again.
My wife in the firehawk - (with M6) - accelarates from me like nothing. Leaving my old camaro in the dust.
We both hold on the gas to about 120 or so before letting off.
So I lost a race, but didn't matter since it was to another car that we own. OVerall it was a good family fun day. we did it a few times on and off throughout the day.
