Texas isn't any better regarding retarded laws concerning the automobile. So this is what happened. I was hanging out at my Apt. with 3 of my roomates and more than a few friends(we were having a party :)))); ). We were all having a great time till the cops showed up(music was too loud, that was my fault :(alc = def). Anyway some idiot left some weed sitting in plain sight of the door( It was sitting wide open when they walked up on us). I was unaware of this fact, so when the cops asked who lived here I answered "I do". Nexed thing I know I'm in handcuffs and being charged with possesion of a controlled substance( I took responsibility to prevent everyone else from going to jail for it). When I finally went to my last court date (It had been almost a year later) I was sentenced to 6 months of probation (totally expected), my license was suspended for 1 year(WTF? I wasn't even near a car), and when I got my license back I had to get a SR22 on my insurance for 2 years(something normally reserved for DWI's(first offence) in Texas). That really pissed me off, but when I found out that people busted for DWI's lost there license for only 6 months I couldn't believe it :smt076 . The whole reason the cops showed up was my fault and I accept and take responsibility for it, but how exactly is what I was convicted of make me more of a risk on the road than some drunk who decided it was a good idea to drive home? Even though this happend 7 years ago it still pisses me off :smt076 .
