as much as we await our Camaro's back... did you ever think that maybe since there are 28 camaros on every block across the country, whos gonna need a new one?? GM must have done somthing right, or they would not have made them for 35 years, WITH EACH YEAR CAMARO DESTROYING THE SAME YEAR M_ST_NG!!! just wait, in a year or 2 that new stang that STOLE the concept from Camaro. (yeah, i saw concept pics of the new camaro way back in 2003. and the 05-06 stang looks just like it... now all you krazyz are gonna think that CAMARO stole the retro idea from f_rd... well when the new Camaro comes out, it is going to eat your little 4.7s....cant even say 5.slow anymore, for breakfast. sure the lastes m_st_ng is still selling, THERE HASNT BEEN COMPETITION FOR 4 YEARS! dont worry pal, its comin back, and once again will dominate the streets, AND racetracks across the country :smt045 dint mean to be bitchy, im sorry... but read what i quoted, he had it comin ;)

Satire (definition):
sarcasm: witty language used to convey insults or scorn; "he used sarcasm to upset his opponent"; "irony is wasted on the stupid"; "Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybody's face but their own"--Jonathan Swift
*somebody* missed the point...

the reason why GM stopped making camaros was because they didnt sell.
how can the new mustang, that looks like the old mustang, steal a concept from the camaro?? please explain this to me. how did you see concepts of the new camaro in 2003? i dont even think they were on the drawing board way back then.
also, its 4.6, or 281.
its funny. those little 4.6's can make them new GT mustangs run 13.5 seconds in the 1/4 mile, with plenty of room to mod. don't underestimate those engines.
mustangs always sold. even during the fuel crisis of the 70's, with the shunned upon mustang II's, in i believe 1976, it outsold all the other cars in its class combined. including the camaro and firebird.
and by the way, camaros never DOMINATED. mustangs never DOMINATED either. performance wise, camaro usually had the upper hand, by how much? not alot. look at specs. on the interweb. usually .1 or .2 seconds.
thats driver right there. a slightly better driver in a mustang could take that.
read what i had quoted. all that guy did was state his opinion, in a rather useless way.
thats like me saying "Camaros suck! they are all SLOW. my grandma in a 1982 crown victoria could take those wastes of metal out!"
wow, what use that has on an argument. all that does is show you how idiotic some people really are.

your right, they werent selling, but the reason for it, as i said, was that everybody and their brother already has one. there are camaros on every street in every city. there are millions of camaros for sale no matter where you go, someone has one they cant afford to take care of, chances are they abused it to begin with. but with all these cars available used, why go buy a new one? especially when they keep the same body style 10 yrs in a row. they came out with different engine packages almost every 5 yrs. but the body's stayed almost the same BECAUSE IT WORKED, they are beautiful cars, they are powerful, and they are just awesome. so if your a car manufacturer, and you have already sold your product to everybody on the street, and these cars are lasting years and years... your customers are already happy. why keep making more. take a break for a few years, and make a new one. that they did. yes i did see pics of the concept car in 2003. i got them printed at a chevy dealer, but the source he got them from was a "hot rod" magazine. in the 'phr' section... project hot rod i guess that stands for, i dont read it myself. take a pic of that camaro concept from 2003, and hold it up to the new m_st_ng, and they look almost identical. and neither one looks like a m_st_ng. maybe similar to a mach 1, but more like a 1st gen camaro. yes the guy that said the original post was not making alot of sense but he had the right ideas, just dint know how to word it, and let his opinion take control. me, yes i have an opinion on it, and its a strong one, BUT, i am willing to back it up with factual information. ill find that article and pics of the concept from 2003 and send em if you like.

your logic is flawed. the mustang outsold the camaro, so the mustang should not be around anymore, and the camaro should. nobody bought them because nobody wanted them.
obviously the body styles didnt work, they dont make them anymore.
you wanna talk about body styles that did work? the fox mustang worked. they used them from 79-93. all the way up to 04 if you count the modified versions.

is that what you saw? if so, that isnt a GM concept. some kid with skills in CAD made that.
i dont think GM would have made a camaro concept so soon after discontinuing the line. it doesn't make sense to me. but who am i? some punk kid who isnt a prominant person in the automitive industry.
did you know that without the mustang, there wouldn't even be a camaro? the camaro was GM's answer to the huge sales of the 65 and 66 mustangs. i think some respect is due here.
i was searching for a certain MII picture and i foudn a pretty cool quote from some mustang & ford magazine.
"it doesn't really matter if you lose a few battles, as long as you win the war"

that is not the exact pic that i saw, it was green, there was a yellow, and a red one too, along with an article. they all look about the same. but surely more like a Camaro then a Mustang. i saw those pictures in 2003, then waited and watched. it seemed like forever. look down the street, i say look holy shit they finally made it... AWWW HELL NO THATS A ******** FORD. WHAT NEXT!@$#$% yes a kid made those images on his computer, but they sure made it into the magazines. pretty popular, and all over the internet. (it was shown to me when i was chatting with a Chevy salesman inside a dealership) and it sounded like it could have been realistic from the article that went with it. as secretive as GM has been about it, who knows if that was some kind of 'test the waters' tactic to find out what people thought of it. they got that stupid contract with canada over the plant where the Camaro was made. they werent ALLOWED to make Camaro's anywhere else, and could not keep that plant up for whatever reason. i havent read about that in a few years, but this is what i remember. my point when i posted in this forum was how much that new mustang looked so much like the concept camaro. and i hear all the time that Chevy is copying them by going retro, but i think they had a lil somthin up their sleeve and it just dint happen that way. maybe the other way around, maybe not. just my thoughts.
Camaro will come back, sooner or later, and badder then ever. and id put money on it that ford is gonna have to make some serious changes to compete. like i said the first post, the little 4.whatever is just not enough for a muscle car. that 6.0 in the real concept camaro should speak for itself.
this could be a never ending Chevy vs f_rd topic, and both sides could write books about why theirs is better. but its best determined on the racetracks across the land. so may the best American muscle win!
