Define muscle car?

What do you define as a "muscle car"? What qualifies cars as "muscle cars"?

I define a muscle car as a car that will "out muscle" most other cars! Big block, ground pounding, nitrous breathing monsters that make the ground shake when you pull into the drive in....well, maybe not quite that bad ... but you'll know a muscle car when you see or hear it..

Either it came from the factory already set to kill or you made it that way. I consider my Dip a muscle car, because when it came from the factory (it is a cop edition) it had comparable performance to a Z28 or Monte SS, and since owning I've just improved on what's already there.
