Taurus tips

Sup to all.I have a 200 Ford Taurus ses and I want to increase the flow of the car or horsepower without burning my bank and without taking out my engine.Im not a big engine guy just know some basics.Im going all out on the exterior since im a painter and its my car.By flow I mean;when I accelerate it hesitates and even when I push down the pedal it takes time to react, why and how do I change this for the better without spending a hell of a lot of money

a. It's a tore-ass, save up for all the shit thats gunna go wrong with it(been there done that) or just trade it for something thats not gunna fall apart on you(no offense here just some words of wisdom from a former tore-ass owner).

b. A wise man once said; cheap, fast, reliable. You can only pick two.

c. If you choose to ignore point "A", your best bet is to start off with bolt-ons. Get a set of headers, remove your cats, and slap on a nice catback. Also, pick up a cold air intake of some sort. The two combined should be enough to give you at least some sotp increase.

Huh....I think I can help you on this one....The catback is located just under your intake plenum orifice valve, around the center knuter valves.....It's called a catback because of the "meow" sound it makes when decelerating from around 50 mph or so.....You could also replace the muffler bearings with a larger 2 1/2" diameter bearing for more flow and possibly a 10 HP gain.....Hope this helps! :smt023 :smt025

ok easy there chief...you may be better off having a shop do your performance add-ons, however, if you want to learn you need to chill out and im sure there's a ton of people here that can help you out

a "catback" is the term we use for the exhaust tubing coming after your catalytic converter, including the muffler. an aftermarket "catback" comes with larger tubing than stock and a better-flowing muffler. it'll usually provide a nice growl over the factory muffler and pick up 5-10 horsepower
