Value

I im 17 years old and I personally love the classics....V8s everything original that si what it is all about. Saving or bringing back to life a generation of vehicles that is almost extinct. I collect classic cars me and my father both buy them and renew them.

Those auctions someone above mentioned, and sites like E-Bay are making the good ole muscle cars hard to come buy. These rich SOBs come through, scoop 'em up & park them to never be enjoyed. The price would continue to increase anyway though, especially with the more rare models and people scooping up projects to makes clones out of and turning around and selling them for inflated prices. I'm 20 and have a 68 Mustang Coupe, but I hope to work my way up to a sweet fastback: Mach 1, Boss or Shelby. My Dad has a 63 Galaxie 500XL w/ the 406 tri-power, a 63 Monterey with the 390 (both 'verts) & a 79 4x4 pick up we just slapped a 460 bored .030 over with a healthy cam in it. I've grown up around the best of the best muscle cars. Dad's friends had Mopars & Chevys. I'll never have the passion for late models as I do the oldies, and that is what makes them valuable to me. The more work I put in, the more passion I gain. While late models are nice as far as comfort and handling goes....they just don't have the presence or beastly sound of the oldies. Not to mention you almost have to know as much about computers as you do mechanics to tune the damn things if you want to play with them @ all, lol. I feel that a lot (not all thank God) of people my age lack the appreciation for where the whole car scene started.

If Barrett-Jackson is any indicator they will keep going up. The supply is limited and they show it's whatever the market will bear. Look at the prices people are getting for the muscle car "clones".

Little did we realize they would take on a life of their own. But driving the old iron is where it's at; not putting it in a garage with carpet and A/C.
