Your First muscle car
i remember when i got my first "muscle car", a 1994 polo green z28....
the ford dealer(i bought it used) told me "i think it's got a computer chip, it's so fast" i think he was used to the mustangs :smt018 ...pretty sure it was bone stock with about 60k on it(in 98)......man, i was so upset when i sold that car in '02; it was the devil though:trannys, head gaskets, vandalized[by fire once, thiefs another time], tickets[3 in the first week, in two states and two countries], accidents[deer, omni, shopping cart, parking garage wall], 3 optisparks, friend got it impounded[dui] in california while i was back here getting married, you name it the list goes on!
gosh,i drove it 4 thousand miles through upstate ny and eastern canada the first few days i had it, it was in california with me when we moved out there, then as soon as i paid it off i had to sell it while i was looking for a job.......
i though that car was so fast running high 13's low 14s! the guy who bought it from me stripped and juiced it and ran 11s, then sold it to someone in flint(who was gonna rebuild it)
i've been thinking about selling my '98, but my wife is pretty sure i'll fall into depression like when i sold the green z.....
the first one was different though :smt023

a few more pics i just found from when i was selling it....

my first car was an f-body. i had to do it. i was a bit hesitant and even looked to our rivals for a first car. after months of looking andnot really finding anything in my price range i gave up. then that one foggy day when i pikd up the autotrader and saw it. 1989 camaro, SBC, K&N, Chip, Exhaust, 4500 OBO. I called on it immediately, and within minutes i was on my way! I surveyd the vehicle and took it for a ride. WOW did this thing moooooove. i would say 15.50's in the 1/4. but at that point in my life i was thrilled. 16/v8/cocky as hell. i thought i was the shit!! i really did ya kno. well the car was black in color with sum crazy as pin-stirping/mural on the car. it stretchd from the mirrors back over the hatch. i had never seen anything like it. it ad Trans Am GTA rims on it (black) which really set it off. at the time rims matching the body color wasnt in, but now when i look back on it.....it was cool as hell. i would always be turnin around in the raod cuz that F'n center caps would always fall off. at that time i was in to car audio so i had a bangin system in it! i raced everyone i saw. from Tempos to mustnags to trucks. i was a wild man. the car only had 55K on it so it ran healthy, not quk, healthy. the best race i had was against this truk on the service drive of 696 over by gratiot, i whooped him bad. after that the car went downhill. fuel deliver problem of some sort. it was fun while it lasted, and the weirdest thing is this....when i was taking deliver y on the car i was pullin out of the owners drive-way and as i am pullin out he is pullin in with a 98 TA. red with big white winshield banner that says Trans Am on it. my mouth hit the floor, over come with beauty that iwas driven this POS and he was driven that! when i pulled out onto the main road i said to myself, "i gotta get a car like that"
sig pic finishes the story :smt045

The car I have now is the only f-body I have ever owned, Here is my lil story. In the fall of 01 dad took me to the dealership were I bought my car. "He asked ang u like this car?", talkin about the car i have now. "I was like yea I love it". I thought at my age I will never get one. I had my eye on the Grand Prix. So what happend one day I came home from work. And the garage door was closed and i opened the door and ther was my car. Being a girl about it i cryed and was yelling. when i saw her. Reminding you I passed on my spring brake just so i could get the car. And I am not a brat becouse I got a new car my senior year of high school, the money i saved for the grand prix went to the firebird. And that is how I got my first f-body.

well my first car was almost a 5.0 vert, but the doctor selling it didnt want to sell it to a kid, So I went and looked at a gta. black/black loaded 5.7 :smt025 drove it it was sweet then after the drive I was gonna buy it and he opened the the rear hatch and it wouldnt shut, so I told him id call him after I found how much a motor cost, well I called him the next day and he had sold it.
so the search continued, found my 85 firebird ad didnt say much about it. I pulled up to the house and there she was black with t tops with
crager drag stars and mickeys and a cowl hood tinted windows,
so I check it out, car has a 6 point cage, complete sub frame and ladder bars, true 3 inch duals. He fired it up and I knew this was it.
I was used to driving my moms mazda never driven something like this before, 4:10s + 3800 stall + screaming small block = :smt038 for a 16 year old. I bought it that night and so condemed myself to this habit...........................er hobby my moms still mad at my dad for him letting me buy that car. Im not,
my dad kicks ass.

My first muscle car was a 97 Trans Am LT1. Man did it have pull from the line. A lot different than my LS1. When I first got that car, I felt so good, so accomplished. After that, I knew that I'd always have at least one muscle car in my driveway from that day on! Rock ON :))));

My first was that '71 Chevelle (I think you all remember the pics, lol) Anyhow it was a *sneak* it in the HS auto shop whenever we could to get the big stuff done. :smt023 Man that thing was a blast. I remeber pulling all niters in a buddy's garage wrenching on it trying to make her go faster.............man did we go thru the beer!
A few spes's I remeber were 10.5:1 flatops, 194 heads (I wanted Camelbacks, damnit another story for another day) , I don't remeber the cam specs but man o man did she LOPE! Hooker Headers, Ohhh, Ohhh and we cannot forget all of the chrome including but not limited to THE CHROME ALTERNATOR lol
Lotta good times times, bad times. I remember one good time was we cruised at this nasty old metal fab shop in Flint on Dort Hwy after it closed. And a guy I went to HS with wanted to run me he had a older 'Stang (70's?) anyhow we get out on Dort Hwy and, this Chevelle was cool I could drop it into Low 1 (Auto) get it up to 30~35 and let off the then hammer it, quick like. And it would pull the front tires ever so slightly. The guy wouldn't run after he saw that??
Bad time....we had this big cruise loop in Flint, Dort Hwy to about Lippincot down to Saginaw thru Downtown back to Robert T. Longway back up to Dort Hwy. Anyhow my brother in law (at the time) and I were cruisin and on Saginaw St. some guy in a TRI 5 rolls up to me.......We horsed around goin up Saginaw until we hit Robert T which was a divided 4 lane. I ran this guy like 4 times beating him like a ho' on 6 mile every time. The last run tho...............................ehhhh, always the last one isn't it? Anyhow this guy does not let off as I did because the road takes a curve (neither of these cars are handlin machines mind you) he can't handle the curve and starts drifting into my lane when he goes by. I lock 'em up get spun around (90 mph when I last looked) hit the median go over it, taking out a sign in the middle. (Ironically I think it pointed out the fact you were on a curve, one of those arrow ones ya' know?) Anyhow I end up on the opposite side of the road luckily(not rollin it) facing the right way and no one was coming. I was scarred shitless. Mainly because we could see Dort Hwy, and the traffic light/intersection. I'm thinkin FUUUUGGGGHHHHH, COOOOOPPPPPPSSSSSS! None in site tho.
Whoa! Drove it home big ass crease in the door and rocker panel from the sign.................sucked!

My first muscle car was an 89' Camaro RS 2.8L V6 Auto Trans. Pretty car until I had to drive my grandmas van around for 6 months. During this time my camaro was driven by my sister where it was smashed. Now it is sitting in my backyard in several pieces with a a plan and plenty of time on my hands to fix her. Everyone better watch out next year.

My First Musclecar ? I wouldn't call my `70 Nova one because it only had a 230 I6 with a powerglide but it looked like an SS. :smt020
After that I bought my `78 Z28. That car was awesome, But after an Ill fated (Totalled) late night drive. I ended up with a `79 Trans Am which I later dropped a built 400 Poncho into. I Street Raced that T/A for 7 yrs until the late model bug bit me.
Enter my old `94 Formula HdTp I only had that car for a year when I Ordered my `98 Formula 6spd HdTp
