My Z28 is the first and only muscle car that I've owned. I remember finding it in the chicago autofocus for $5k and it only had 60k miles on it. So naturally, I rushed over to the dealership to try to find it. One of the salesman tried showing me all these other piece of crap cars eventhough I told him that all I was looking for was the camaro. It turned out that they didn't have it there yet that day, but when it finally came it, I went there with my dad to go check it out. I took it for a test drive and it was just incredible when I gave it some gas. Then the guy made me take off the t-tops, eventhough it was late november and around 40 degrees outside, but it still was worth it. When we got back from the test drive, the salesman asked me if I was going to be taking it home that night and everyone just looked at me as I was thinking about it. Of course I said "hell yeah", which was the best decision I've ever made.

Now I've had it for almost 2 years and it just feels like another slow car to me. I guess that's why I got the nitrous because whenever I feel that my car is moving way too slow, I just spray it and it'll always put a nice big smile on my face. When I finally graduate, I'll probably be selling it and upgrade to a nicer car, such as the new camaro. Of course, whatever car I get, the bottle is coming with :) .

I'll share my first two cars. It was the summer of 1971. I was going to be a senior in High School that fall.

My first car was a 1964 1/2 Mustang convertible. 289 V8, 3/4 grind Shelby cam, mechanical lifters, Holly 650, edelbrock manifold, four speed tranny.

No jokes about the hair or the burns. IT WAS 1972.

My SECOND car was a 1972 Mustang coupe. It had the 'Sprint' option, which meant it had the small USA flag on the rear corner panel, the interior was white and blue with red piping on the seat. 350V8, automatic. I purchased it new in September of 1972, right after the 1973's came out. I really wanted a 1973 convetible, but they were about $1500 more than I had. I wrote the dealer a check for $3200 and it was all mine.

About four years ago, I went looking for that car. After searching for almost one year, I finally found it. Unfortunately, I was about six months too late. The owner that had it had lost control on an icy road in east Texas. Went off the road and hit a tree. I even considered buying it and restoring it. I paid for one of those disposable cameras and the guy shot the whole roll.

I think I was depressed for about six months. If you have a car you love, HANG ON TO IT! You won't be disappointed, like I was.

Sad to say but this one is my first( 02 Z28). Got it a year ago last week. I was brought up around cars. Love cars and respect them dearly. But had a father that decided a woman didnt belong behind the wheel of muscle. And well he said with my lead foot I would be a complete ticket magnet. Well thanks to all those ricers I am not a ticket magnet and well have been pulled over just once. Funny how a Camaro with a blonde can get away with alot. 13 miles over the speed limit ...expired DL...back seat of alchy and no ticket. Gotta love it.

My First Muscle Car

Well, here I am at the age of 38 and I have finally gotten my first muscle car. It is an emerald green camaro z28 convertable. I am just starting to work on it. Going through the usual tune up items but as soon as that is done I will be taking it on the road. I am getting ready to retire from the Navy after doing 20 years so it is my retirement present. I will be moving to Arizona in a couple of weeks so it should be interesting taking it out for its first 5 hour run. Any suggestions or tricks that I should know about with this car please feel free to tell me I am after all a novice.

Bob
