New to SEMB

Hello everyone,

I thought I would just introduce myself to everyone here on the boards. I live in Troy, Michigan and have been looking for a muscle car club to join.

I have two mustangs, a 1988 LX and a 07 GT.

I can try to get up pictures later, I don't have very many good ones on my laptop right now.

I found this forum/club on google and looked very interesting! So hopefully I will be able to meet up with some of you this summer.

Matt

I'll have to post pics of the 07 GT later because I can't find any pictures of it on this computer.

Here's a few pictures of the 88 before I went crazy and modded it...

I've been working on for about a year and a half and well I built a new motor for it and next year I should have enough money to put on a procharger, my goal is a 10 second street machine. I have been slowly building the car so the entire car can handle the power.

The motor

Eagle forged 331 (h-beams etc)
Ford Sportsman block
Comp cams XFI Duration @ .050 236/248 Lift .579/.579
Vic Jr. Heads (with ported bowls)
Holley Systemax II Intake
Ford Racing 1.6 RR

Thats just the basics!

Oh a little more about me, I am a student at Kettering University, going for ME with a fuel cell minor and auto powertrain concentration. And I have a co-op so I can afford modding my stangs (and earned scholarships, please do not think I am some spoiled rich kid, my father has taught me if I want something work for it and that is exactly what I have done!)

When I go home this weekend I'll post some more pics. I am going to try to get my 88 running this weekend I still have some work to do.

A good co-op is a great way to get money to mod a car. I've been there. That's how I paid for the 4V motor I had in my t-bird.

A few people that used to actively post on here hang out at Auto Europe on Woodward most Friday and saturday nights so if you want to meet some people you can swing by there. I live in clawson so you can't be too far from me.

No you are not to far from me. I'll have to stop by Auto Europe, I would this friday, but I need to get my 88 done. I took up the whole garage and my dad wants his 72 Torino out of storage..

Yes we need to cut the coils in the front to lower it, too much fender to wheel gap..but other than that I think its prefect!

We built it ourselves. 351W stroked to a 408w, 205 AFR heads, comp cam Xtreme energy cam, Eddie RPM air-gap, and holley carb. Hopefully to have a 100 shot of Nitrous soon!

Oh does this forum get more active?

thanks! I convinced my dad to get the flat black parts done.

I was looking at some of the other threads on this forum and some of them haven't had replies for quiet some time.

Does this forum get anymore active?

Thanks, Matt

BTW what's your name?

80's Mustangs are the best cars to build for the 1/4 miles in my opinion. I've never been in a 10 second car, its gotta be a blast. I'm sure you'll get there in no time. By the way, are there any complications with cutting coils. The gap I have in the front of my car looks worse than that, but I'm afraid that if I lower the front it wont ride right. I used to have my car real real low (thats how it was when I bought it) but the lader bars would hit every damn bump in the road.

sup?? welcome to semb, nice lookin stang, good luck w/ getting it done and getting the other one running. That Torino looks badass!! bet she sounds great. in my opinion, the club gets more active during the summer months and then starts dieing down, at least thats what it did last year.
