Yeah, I live in Asheville. Not too far. Anyway, I've been reading about these TB bypass kits and I'm wondering if there is any adverse effects at all. Sometimes it gets below zero at my house, would that effect the way it ran?

The main reason is so that during winter months, the higher temperature of the coolant will keep the TB warmer thereby preventing icing. That's where the problem lies during other months. By warming up the TB, air passing thru it is also warmed, causing some power lose (since cooler, denser air makes more power) during summer months.

I know but, I don't wanna go start my car one morning and it not run, or possibly hurt the TB just to gain 5 hp. Ever heard of any of this happening?

Shouldn't hurt anything, just keeps the metal warm in the throttle body, hence keepin the icing down. But it is a 5min mod....so if you want to run it in the summer and take it out in the winter. But an occasional day here and there I wouldn't...IMHO

If you really wanna research it go over to www.LS1Tech.com, do a search on TB Bypass....you will find more info on it than you want!!

I looked but I didn't see anything about inspections after they were installed. Would that make it fail the fail inspection?
