1973 Camaro RS Z28

I just got an invite to your board. Great looking site. Check out my Camaro for sale.. Asking $23,500.00

THIS IS A NUMBERS MATCHING, REAL RALLY SPORT Z-28 WITH A MUNCIE M21 FOUR SPEED. IT HAS THE FACTORY REAR WITH 3:73 GEARS. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 1987 WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. IT HAS GONE THROUGH SEVERAL RESTORATIONS, THE MOST MAJOR ONE IN 2000 WHEN I REPLACED THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE PASSENGER FENDER, THE HOOD AND BOTH QUARTERS INNER AND OUTER. THE CAR WAS STRIPPED TO BARE METAL. A GREAT DEAL OF TIME AND EFFORT PRODUCED A VERY STRAIGHT, BEAUTIFUL AND ALL STEEL BODY. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME AND I WILL EMAIL YOU PHOTOS OF ANYTHING YOU LIKE, I HAVE SEVERAL HUNDRED PIX OF THE CAR DURING RESTORATION, AT SHOWS, ETC.

I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE AUCTIONS ON EBAY FOR SIMILAR CARS FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I HAVE SEEN NON Z28S ADVERTISED AS REAL AND FAKE RS'S AND SS'S AND ALL SORTS OF THINGS. RIGHT NOW THERE IS MORE THAN ONE FAKE RS ONLINE. REAL RS'S HAVE ROUND MARKER LIGHTS ABOVE THE SPLIT BUMPERS AND AN EXTENDED NOSE AND DIFFERENT GRILL. Z28 APPEARS RIGHT ON THE COWL TAG AND IN 1973 THE 5TH DIGIT NEEDS TO BE "T" FOR IT TO BE A Z28. THIS CAR IS REAL. IN 1973, CHEVROLET MADE 11,364 CAMAROS WITH THE RS OPTION AND 11,574 CAMAROS WITH THE Z28 OPTION. HOW MANY HAD BOTH OPTIONS? I WISH I KNEW BUT THIS IS ONE.

ALONG WITH THE CAR I AM INCLUDING, THE ORIGINAL BLOCK AND FACTORY VERY SOUGHT-AFTER "TURBO-CASTING" HEADS, WHICH YOU CAN VERIFY ARE STAMPED WITH THE CORRECT CODES AND DATES. THEY ARE NOT IN THE CAR BUT I HAVE HAD THE BLOCK HOT-TANKED AND FREEZE PLUGS INSTALLED. THERE ARE NO DEFECTS, I MERELY REPLACED THE ENGINE THINKING THAT IF I WAS TO RESTORE THE CAR TO ORIGINAL, I DIDNT WANT THE ORIGINAL BLOCK BEING DAMAGED OR BORED TOO MANY TIMES.

THE ENGINE THAT IS IN THE CAR CAME FROM A 70 CORVETTE AND HAS BEEN REBUILT WITH 10:1 COMPRESSION, A SOLID LIFTER CAM THAT HAS A TINY BIT MORE DURATION THAN THE 70 LT1 SPECS., A FACTORY Z28 ALUMINUM INTAKE, HOLLEY 750, DOUBLE HUMP "FUELIE" HEADS, ALUMINUM-COATED HEADERS AND SOME OTHER MILD MODS. I WILL ALSO INCLUDE SOME OTHER ASSORTED PIECES, I HAVE PLENTY OF TRIM, SOME OF IT THE ORIGINAL OFF THE CAR. OVER TIME, I HAVE REPLACED EVERY WEATHERSTRIP AND EVERY PIECE OF CHROME AND STAINLESS ON THE CAR. I AM ALSO INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL DASH WHICH IS IN GREAT SHAPE ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL BACKSEAT AND THE ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE WITH THE FACTORY WHEEL AND ORIGINAL FIRESTONE WIDE-OVAL WITH THE ORIGINAL AIR IN IT. I WILL GO THROUGH THE GARAGE AND ANYTHING I HAVE WHICH GOES TO THE CAR I WILL ALSO INCLUDE. OH, I HAVE A COUPLE REAR SPOILER PIECES, I'M SURE I WILL FIND MORE STUFF.

THE CAR IS MOSTLY ORIGINAL ASIDE FROM THE HOOD WHICH IS A HARWOOD FIBERGLASS COWL INDUCTION HOOD. THIS IS THE HIGHEST QUALITY F-GLASS HOOD ON THE MARKET AND AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PIX, I SPENT A LOT OF TIME MAKING IT FIT PERFECTLY. THE DASH IS FROM AN EARLY TRANSAM AND IS FITTED WITH ALL AUTOMETER GAUGES. OBVIOUSLY THE CENTERLINE WHEELS ARE NOT ORIGINAL NOR ARE THE HEADERS AND FLOWMASTER MUFFLERS. ALSO, THE CAR HAS A CENTERFORCE CLUTCH. YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS, THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT HAS PLENTY OF MODS. FIRST THE FENDERWELLS HAVE BEEN PAINTED GLOSS BLACK. THERE IS A CHROME ALTERNATOR, CHROME WATERPUMP, BILLET ALUMINUM WATERPUMP AND CRANK PULLEYS, ALLISON IGNITION (SIMILAR TO A UNILITE SETUP BUT RETAINS THE STOCK DISTRIBUTOR - NO POINTS), PLENTY OF OTHER CHROME AND ALUMINUM BRACKETS AND ACCESSORIES.

I SPARED NO EXPENSE WHEN PUTTING TOGETHER THIS CAR. IT HAS BEEN MY BABY SINCE I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. YOU SEE LOTS OF COLLECTOR CARS FOR SALE ON EBAY THAT WERE SLAPPED TOGETHER QUICKIE TO MAKE A BUCK, THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

I would consider it a mild-custom. Different people have different opinions on what should happened to classic musclecars. Should they remain completely stock? Should you hotrod it and make it the way you want? I've always kept this in mind when working on this camaro. While it has quite a few changes from stock. In most cases, I have all of the parts to put it back and I made no changes that would severely alter it from being restorable. At the same time, I wanted the car to express my idea of what it should be. I think this is the reason why most people start building hot rods anyhow. If you wanted to restore the car, the hood is the same from 70-81 for camaros so one would not be hard to find. I removed the center console because I don't care for it but its the same 73-81 and is readily available especially in black. The factory wheels I have seen on ebay for a few hundred bucks and aside from that, I think I am including just about everything to return the car to stock. You can see from the photos that the car is in really nice shape. Again, email me and I will send you more photos if you like. I have photos of the car with the fenders off, the rear quarters being replaced, etc. If you are curious, I can show you pix of the car since I've owned it. It's been through quite a few changes. I have worked as an ASE certified mechanic and run a speedshop so I knew what I was doing and I had access to whatever parts I needed.

One big thing I should mention is that this car runs and drives as good as it looks. It is tight and virtually rattle free, which if you have ever owned a 2nd gen. Camaro is amazing. The centerforce clutch is like butter and everything is tight and right there.

The car sounds awesome and I invite anyone to come out and see it and DRIVE it if they are seriously interested.

I am not a dealer. This is a used vehicle. It is in “used” condition. It is being offered in AS-IS, WHERE-IS condition with NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND either expressed or implied. The item description is strictly for identification purposes only.
