Here's a similar site/link that says they came in them stock. Probably just need exhaust, motor mounts, front springs/shocks and a radiator. Oh...and stock in Exxon. :smt045 I'm not sure about trannys in Mopars. Someone should chime in that knows.

he will need to get a big block 727 transmission as the 318 probably has a 904 behind it and it is a small block tranny.your brother could leave the small block torsion bars in the car (mopars don't have coil springs)if he wants to use the car for strip action ,but if this is a street car i would get a set of bars for a BB car.
he will have to get a bigger rad. to keep it cool and run the viscous coupled fan with a shroud.if he can get a motor with all the accesories on it it will be easier than sourcing brackets ,but they are all ready available.I'm not sure on the mounts on a 74 as i think they went to spool style mount I would check with
Schumacher Creative Services
they make all kinds of mounts for engine swaps.
I have several mopars and am currently doing a similar swap.I am putting a 383 in my 72 charger which is now a 318.
sounds like a fun car when he gets it done

sorry i did not check before, lol lazy . I did this to my 73 charger.

Oh 1972 was a great year to do the swap, in 1973,1974 they changed the k frame design

1) motor mount kit conversion kit. I'll get the link, either that or change the whole k frame (Its a pain even if you can find a big block k frame) I did this before they came up with the special motor mounts.
2) aye 727 big block trans.
3) rear end 8 3/4" is cool , Dana 60 if you have the money,
4) drive shaft
5) rad

oh yes almost forgot oil pan, need a rear sump type, i used one of a 1963 413 motor, depends on what year 440 you get.

headers interfer with a column shift linkage , i put a aftermarket floor shifter in, will try to see if theres a link on this.

Headers also where a pain with that big rubber knuckle on the power stearing shaft. But not a huge deal.

Oh use the chrysler mini starter, holds up well to heat and cranks well.

Kickdown linkage use the lockar set up. I put a manual shift valve body in mine.

look in forums a ton of info on all this stuff.

PM me if you have any questions

Doesn't Schumacher make the mounts so you don't have to swap the K-frame now? I know they make /6 to V8 and LA to RB (small to big) bolt-on adapter mounts for F/J/M's..I would think that B's would be in there too..
