Hey, sorry it's been a while. They were planning 200 but only built 164. My car was misnumbered as 154. They only built 45 in 96 and they built 47 (I think) in 97 which made no sense what so ever. I asked about it and found out about the misnumbering and that my car was actually #117 which if you count back from 47 leaves you with 117 :-). So I asked if my car was indeed the last 96 assembled and of course they said it was. So I was like :smt079
OK. so the driveshaft on the 1LE cars was only replaced on the third gens and the later SLP 1LE cars. My Comp and old SS has/had them. I thought the 94 would have it until I got up to about 90 and it was shaking like a crackwhore in the snow. So, that's how I found that out. Also, they don't save weight, in fact, they are 3 lbs or so heavier. The reason they are used is because they are a LOT stronger/rigid and have better ballanced yokes.
ANd the Old SS would have like you too Erik lol {:}]
