crappy idle/ searching idle/ and a stumble...

the car is a 2.8L V6 Carbed, I have replaced just about every vacum line on the car in the engine bay, Replaced the fuel filter, and i have a K&N airfilter on the car (last cleaned and oiled about 5k miles ago) the cat has been replaced about 1 month ago.

Symptoms: When cold and fast idle cam not engaged to warm up (sometimes i cant let the car sit, i have to leave right away ) the idle is right around 400-500 rpms, also during this time, if i try to accerate the engine will die out like it is flooded, once warmed the idle will hover between 750 and 1k rpms, the car doesnt die out at this time, but there is a huge bog between pressing the petal down and the car accelateing, as if the car is falling on its face.

When the fast idle cam engaged (when cold) the car idles at around 1500 rpm

I have checked to see if the choke was working, and it was, I am stumped, anybody have any ideas?

if you can smell gas check the floats and check the idle\speed mixture, i used to have a hesitation but i i found out my floats were wayyyyy too high and my mixture was too rich, runs like a champ now

car's computer controled, so i cant adjust the a/f mix, ive adjusted the idle screw to where it will run and not die when warmed up... will check the floats though.

my bad, im used to a holley and bein able to adjust every little thing. by the way, does the check engine light come one? when ever mine did it ran like crap, throttle position sensor was loose,

if the check engine light comes on or when it does take a pieace of speaker wire (ether posi or neg) jus rip those two apart

put one end in the upper termainal and the other end of the same wire in the lower terminal on the very right of the computer plug in thingy under the dash (try differ combos it may be vertical or horizonal)

turn ignition on and count the flashes of the check engine light thats a way of checkin trouble codes on 80's GMs dunno if it works for ford if it flashes got to autozone and look in the book for your car, if thats dosent help then i dont know
