Well, it is really easy to diagnose with the right tools. A/C systems are really simple. If you open it, you have to replace the evaporator and the accumulator, period. The desecant becomes too saturated and contamination is too easy if you don't. Did you convert it for 134 because 134 is not what is known as freon (R-12)? If not, that could cause probs too. Have you checked the condensore? What are the symptoms? Just not getting cold enough? Noisey compressor? Leaking (if so look for accumulated oil and dirt at connection points all over the system).
Check to make sure the accumulator is getting cold and that the inlet and outlet lines are different temps too. Make sure the fins on the condensore aren't damaged (every one lost reduces the effeciency). I had to study this stuff a bit, not that I wanted to, and I am certified so PM me if you need help finding a solution.
