Tire Selection

I just bought Draglites 15 x 10 and am not sure which tires to get or which is the biggest size I could get. I have a 98 T/A. I also have 15 x 5 on the front. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for the best traction possible without using a full drag slick. Thanks.

You can fit a 325 MT ET radial, BUT it will take a little "work."

I was told to stay away from a drag radial due to the power I am going to be putting down and the car being a 6 speed. I was told by alot of people to look into getting a 28 x 10.5 x 15. What do you think? People recommend the Hoosier. Thanks for the reply.

I'm sorry I took your "no full on drag slick" as no DOT slick either. I should have also asked for your complete breakdown of mods, shift point/ redline, gears, adj. lcas?, mph in the 1/4th etc. Fill me in on all that and I will make a suggestion as to what DOT slick to run.

What do you plan on trapping? I would assume approx high 140's or so?

I really hope so. I am trying to lighten it up too. I just bought the BMR K member and a arms. I got rid of everything not needed, even went to a manual steering rack.

28in tall tire with a 6400 rpm limit, assuming the 28in tall tire will grow to 29in on the big end of the track, will allow you 141.63mph.

A 29in tall tire with the same limit, asumming it will grow an inch on the big end, will allow you 146mph. I think you might have to start doing some real work to fit a tire this tall though.

The place I am having the work done says I will be peaking at around 7200 RPM. Hoosier has a 27 in tire (QTP) I am not sure of the exact dimensions. What is your opinion on tire and size?

Let's assume it grows to 28in on the big end. That will afford you 153.85mph with 7200rpm redline.

Should be good, although you might want to think about a 28in tall tire for the bigger sidewall. It might be a task to hook your car up with all that torque you are going to be making.

What trans/ clutch combo are you running? A solid 9sec car and a t56 are no joke. You better be a shifting fool!
