Radio amp for Bose system

Does anyone know where the stock radio amplifier for a Bose system on a 95 Z28 would happen to be? I've looked thru all kinds of books and manuals and cannot seem to figure it out. Thanks.

Are they not self amplified? If not, try under the driver's side rear panel. Under the hatch opposite of the spare tire.

definately not under the seats, i was thinking under the 5th speaker in the back, i was just hoping someone could verify before I tore up the hatch interior.

also another question, are the 2 rear speakers (back seat) used mainly for bass? I thought maybe one was blown but i listened to them both and they beat, just not much of any treble on either, i can't figure out if my amp is bad, or if Chevy only ever intended them to be bass because the 5th speaker puts out treble on both channels. any help would be much appreciated

I've got the monsoon, but those in the rear are mostly mids. Don't know much about the Bose system.

Ok, so I pulled one of my speakers out. It was just the speaker, if it was self amplified would the amp have been attached directly to the back of the speaker, or is it separate and further down? Thanks!

well these are some serious questions.

where to start, well your radio is probably providing the amplification. I really doubt there is a seperate amplifier, and i also really doubt that the speakers are self-amplified, you would definitely be able to tell if it was self amplified. Post up some pics, ill be able to let you know. As for not producing a lot of treble out of the rear speakers its probably because they dont have much of a tweeter and that they are more designed for the low end of the sound spectrum.

LOL! I wasn't very clear on my earlier post. I meant the deck being amplified. Sorry!

This is the "beast" in my hatch:

Notice all the extra plastic under the little "woofer". I'm guessing that's an amp. My whole problem is static in the system and I guess these are mostly the problem. I really didn't want to rewire the whole system and was wondering if there was someway around this like shorting the wires in the back together to not even use the 5th speaker and amp. Anyone have any wiring diagrams?

These are all the wires going to the beast:
