rough idle....shit

i just put new heads and an intake on my 305 4bbl. it has more power it seems like but it isnt running verry good.it hesitates to turn over some times....turn key off and then try again and it works?¿ im confussed... :smt090

im probably gonna sound stupid but did you make sure everything was adjusted in the heads?...also maybe a retime...

It could also be something fuel related. Such as your fuel pump might be going out.

^ thanks i knew i was forgeting something....

is it a carbed motor...was there anything wrong before the heads?

if its the carb...clean it up a little bit..check the fuel filter and the fuel pump...

may have to adjust your carb to compensate for the new intake.

thx guys.. i should have put this but i forgot, the heads and intake are stock replacement rebuilt with 0 miles..... im sure i have a vacuum leak and im going to try that. also the fuel pump is new so i hope thats not it. ill keep u posted. thx

if you put a new intake on it id adjust the idle speed up, when i put my holley on it was idleing rough and i hook my tach back up and i was doin bout 400-450 rpms, i set it around 700rpm idle and 1400 for cold start (electric choke)
