and again he never mentioned he's only running street tires. I tried to cover all the bases for the kid.

My personal opinion from a materials standpoint is I don't like Al as a material for my driveshaft, I explained why. You have done nothing but try and insult me rather than disprove anything I have said.

He never said he wasn't going drag racing and he never mentioned he wouldn't put the car on a tire. again I was just trying to inform the kid. There was no need for you to go into this asshole mode when your 39X AT THE WHEEL HP car twists up the stock ls1 driveshaft you use while you are trying to break into the 12's or whatever it is you think you are going to run don't cry about it. Stock ls1 Al driveshaft is great for DD and cost efficiency. Bad for any car that is actually trying to optimize their setup and maximize their car for getting out of the hole decently.

You can also look at the 1LE aluminum driveshaft. You can find both driveshafts brand new from gmpartsdirect.com. Just go to the site and enter the following numbers in to find them.

1LE driveshaft : 10085375

LS1 driveshaft : 12564004

Anyways since you posted up the goals of your car, I would look for a nice aftermarket aluminum driveshaft. You should be able to come across something pretty cheap. Actually whats your budget on this?

actually buddy u attacked me

" My guess is you must work in some sort of materials engineering. Or perhaps you received your degree in metallurgy"

You expressed your theory I expresed mine
did i attack you yes but as we can see you attacked me first. I dont have a degree in metallury or materials engeinering (but then you dont either)

You think aluminum is for pop cans I think a 310 hp car has a very low chance of breaking a driveshaft desinged for 310 hp cars.
Be it on street tires or stickies. Maybe you can back up your claim that it wont be fine. Lets step out of the books and the theory for a second, could it break yes.........anything can ans will break under the right conditions. Is it going to probaly not. Would he be better with a dennys nitorus ready bullet proof
for his application I dont think so. Ithink that a 300 hp street driven car seeing occasinal track duty will have no problems even on a tire . As for the personal attack on my car if it twists a drive shaft ill replace it with a steel one The question was never Im building a 700 hp track car will a srock al ls1 drive shaft be safe . So next time you attack some one be ready to be attacked back
