TUNE THAT CHASSIS

MANY PEOPLE JUMP STRAIGHT INTO MOTOR MODS WICH IS COOL BUT IF YOU ARE INTENSE ABOUT DRAG RACING THERE IS ALOT OF THINGS YOU CAN DO TO YOUR CAR THAT WILL GREATLY EFFECT ITS ET'S. MY MUSTANG RUNS A STOCK BOTTOM END, GT40 HEADS AND INTAKE FROM A 95 EXPLORER AND SOME BOLT ONS ALL MOTOR. THE CAR RUN'S 12 40'S @107.89 MPH WITH A 1.569 SHORT TIME. ON THE DYNO MY CAR MADE 245 WHP AND 309.8 FTLBTS OF TORQUE. HARDLY THE KIND OF MOTOR YOU WOULD DREAM OF FOR A LOW 12 SEC CAR. BY TUNING MY CHASSIS AND REMOVING WEIGHT AND REDISTRIBUTING WEIGHT AND ALOT OF PRACTICE @ THE TRACK MY CAR RUNS GREAT. THIS YEAR I WILL BUILD A 347 STROKER WITH AFR'S AND A NASTEY CUSTOM SOLID LIFT ROLLER CAM FROM ERSONS.THE CAR IS NOW READY FOR THE MOTOR. I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS POSTED ON THE NEW TIMES, HEADING FOR THE 10'S

sounds quite nice. do you know of a battery relocation kit for a 93 LT1 f-body? because over the summer i have a shit load of things planned for it even if i dont get the H/C package put in ill have quite a few parts already on that are making my car ready for it.

there are a bunch out there but you must drill a hole through your body for a shut off switch. To be track legal you must have one. so if its an everyday driver you might reconsider

I USED A MARINE BATTERY BOX AND RELOCATED IT BEHIND THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. YES IT INVOLVES DRILLING BUT THE WEIGHT TRANSFER IS GREAT. YOU WOULD BE SUPRISED HOW MUCH DIFF A CAR LAUNCHES WHEN WEIGHT IS TAKEN FROM THE FRONT

especially fifty pounds worht. ill be doing a batt relocate with my car for sure.

im not trying to diss you or say that your BSing... but with 240 WHP and 309 Torque... how are you running mid 12s??? whats your car weight??? and what gears are you running?

You can also go to a welding supply store and buy 0 -2 guage cable and make your own kit.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE CAR. MY STANG WEIGH'S 2850 WITH MY 200 POUND ASS IN IT. I LAUNCH IT @ 4000. AND IT HOOKS GREAT. THE CAR HAS AMAZING WEIGHT TRANSFER. THAT IS BECAUSE LIKE I SAID TUNING THE CHASSIS IS WHERE ITS AT. MOST GUYS THINK THERE CAR IS 400 HP. EVERYONE CLAIMS BIG NUMBERS BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR ON A DYNO. ALOT OF FEELINGS GET HURT THAT WAY. BECUASE OF THE DYNO HOWEVER, I KNOW IF MY CAR IS RUNNING RICH, LEAN WHERE IT STOPS MAKING POWER AT AND WHERE THE MAX FT LBS OF TORQUE IS. 309 FT LBS IS ALOT IN A 2800 POUND CAR. ALSO YOU CAN LOOSEN THE WHEEL BEARINGS AND IF YOU HAVE DRUMS REMOVE THE ADJUSTERS. THIS WILL HELP THE CAR WITH ROLLING SMOOTH. SET YOUR ALIGHNMENT @ ZERO TOW. THERE IS ALOT YOU CAN DO. HORSEPOWERS NOT ALWAYS THE KEY. IM A HUGE FAN OF TORQUE.
