Can someone help me out with my rearend

Does anyone know the gear ratio for a 1986 buick regal w/ a 5.0 307? I think its a 7.5" 10 bolt (dunno ratio) and i want to change the ring and pinion to a 3.73. Anyone know?

I know that they used 2.73's, 3.02's and 3.23's those years in Chevys and in your case I will guess it is a 2.73 if it isn't posi. If it i s Posi I will say a 3.02. You can always count the teeth.

10.5"????

How did you determine this...

sounds to me like you didnt measure the pitch diameter of the ring gear...
