Last year I pulled the trans 4 times on jack stands. Hopefully next time will be on my lift.

yeah, doing it yourself is a royal PITA, but well worth it most of the time. i'm personally building up a '66 stang coupe. custom 351, balanced alum drive shaft, body work/fiberglass kit, upgraded brakes, new int. the only things i won't be doing myself are the rear end (posi/full lock, can't remember the name. you push a button and it locks completely for the drag, again and it's a normal posi.) and the trans (just buy and install).

ARB sells those, air actuated lockers. I want them for my jeep.

Sounds like you have a major Mustang project going on, I like the 66 and have some friends with some strong stangs. The air locker rear sounds interesting posi with a locking function sounds like it is made in heaven for a street strip car.

Doing it yourself is cheaper, however, just like any 1-off prototype, its not going to be perfect but it usually will meet your needs well. Trust me.. it takes many prototypes to get somthing perfect, just go through one Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis(DFMEA) on a component and you will see the 100's to 1000's of ways a part may be unsatisfactory to downright dangerous.

Sorry.. just the engineer talking again..lol

But engineering is where the majority of the aftermarket is lacking anyhow... oh well

Im glad to see you got some help and i hope it works out. The people on here are great. Always good to have connections!! :smt023

dont worry i understood it all

<-- going to be engineer lol... damn college is in the way

<-- another engineer! Woo Hoo! We arent confused one bit about this thread.

hahahh... I dont think i intended to make it confusing.. but im glad you understood it..

Though i love the thought of having a compressor in my car for those times when you just gotta reinflate those tires.

Michael has one (or is it two Jerry?) in the BFT for his airbags... they do come in handy if you let some air out at the Strip....

I think he added a second compressor or tank to make the airbags fill faster...
