My Muscle Car Development
Since this section is devoted to muscle car development, im willing to share my project if anybody wants to come and take a look at a gutted out 89' Camaro. Kinda like a learning experience, i will share what knowledge i have thus far learned from stripping a vehicle and getting another one sorta ready to go. Its cool, its in St Clair Shores, just let me know with a pm for directions and phone number.
Ill be working on it the rest of the week (except thursday) if anybody wants to stop by and take a look...and possibly load a box or two of light parts into a van. :smt048

I've got an '89 also that I am getting ready to do a complete interior restore on. It's red right now, but I got a complete, and I mean complete black interior off Ebay for $400. Seats out of a '96 camaro, headliner, carpets, seatbelts, door panels, all the plastics, I even got a complete dash, dash pad, and steering column. Hell of a deal. We'll have to keep each other posted as we get things done. I'm waiting on a 15 piece weather stripping kit right now because I don't want to do anything until the interior is sealed up tight. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
If you got any questions, send em.

Mine is red too! Good Color, for now.
I know exactly what your talking about. i ran into some very very very good deals on ebay and met some cool people in the process. Im sitting on about two complete interiors. Also thanks to B-rad I have pretty much everything i need to complete the restoration except for drivetrain and a fender and hood.
Indeed the weatherstripping is so critical on our cars. So many points where water can leak and get trapped on the inside, thats what helps the floorpans to rust out. Thankfully i managed to get one that is pretty clean.
Definitely like to keep in touch about our restos, im sure we can share a lot of advice on putting them back together.

I'm putting power windows in mine and I am kind of at a loss as to where the wiring is routed from the center console into the doors. I have read that is goes under the seat and into the door, but have no idea of the path. Did you have power windows or possible have any advice on getting the wiring into the doors?
What kind of drive train are you sitting on? I have the 350 TPI A4 that I've done a few things to. Any idea how to post pics in messages?

Yep! i can help you out with all of that.
I didnt have power windows unfortunately, im trying to think of how they did it.
If i remember correctly they routed it through the dashboard and into the doors from the forward most doorjamb. That is where all of the electronics to the internals of the door were routed, at least for giving power to the door lock solenoids. If you did it that way it would probably look cleanest and closest to stock.
Now for hosting images.
you can use Imageshack and use the text for forum thumbnail to post. Hope that helps.
