you guys seem to like the spec III, but you make it sound like it doesnt slip at all. I was looking into a stage III myself but it sounds a launch at the drag strip on street tires is impossible.

I havent had it to the strip yet, but I can launch it on the street with no issues. On a side not there have been some stories latley about spec3s exploding on ls1tech and although I love the clutch I like my legs more and I think if I hear one more about a clutch explodeing and coming through the floor my clutch is gonna find itself in the receycling pile

Itis sweet at the track as long as you have some decent rubber. You can slip it just fine...

isnt there a way to get around this? Like reinforcing the bellhousing or getting a different one? (guess that would mean a new trans though right?)

I have never heard of a Spec clutch rippin appart, now my RAM did lol but the Spec III is rated for like 650 hp, not sure on the RPM's on launch etc... but they are damn tough. I have no probs with mine, launches very nice either on the street or at the track.
