Predator ?

Anyone else using a Predator? Just curios about something. I have just the stock Predator tune (as I'm still waiting on James for a custom) anyhow I put in some "Stabil" topped off the tank and parked "Baby Girl" for the winter. Went out the other to start 'er up move some crap around in the garage and heard some wierd "poping" coming from the exhaust. "WTF is this strange sound coming from my exhaust, and why does it sound like it's on 6 cylinders," I wondered quietly to myself? Anyhow set off an SES light. I'm thinkin no prob plug in the Predator do a diagnostic and see what we have. NOTHING! Put the tune back to GM Stock no SES light, no misses. Can Stabil cause it to do this?? I know that you have to use 93 Octane/minimum with a Predator and no I did not put too much Stabil in. I followed the mfr's recommendations.

Just curios if anyone else ever had this or if I need to take it in to be checked in spring. 'Cause last I knew most vehicles don't fix themselves overnite.

Thanks

IMO i stay away from predator/hpp3 as a rule. my interpretation of them is they lean out the motor a bit, and do some of fancy stuff. personnally the only thing going to modify my PCM will be the boys over at APE with LS1EDIT.
How loud was the popping? did it sound lke bubble wrap?
Definitely check the SES light, it may say multuiple cylinder misfire...mine does this in really hott hott weather. probably need to change plugs and wires. If you need a real diagnostic break down i have AutoTap. will let us know everything about your car. If you need to borrow it i can lend it to ya.

Run away from plug in tuners, They are just a hot tune and not good for longevity of you motor. If you need tunign get edited by someone. those pred/hpp3s are good for speedo corection and rev limit adj. thats about it.

Thanks to all who responed to this :smt023
Also J thanks, but I think I'm good?! She only has 10k miles on her so I hope I dont need new plugs yet. The popping was sorta like bubble wrap (just a couple of sparatic pops) but when I ran a diagnostics w/ the predator,...... nothing?? Put the PCM back to factory stock..purr's like a kitten, no SES! :smt023 I know about handhelds, but a couple of things to keep in mind for me anyhow: 1. If I come to Detriot and get a tune, and lets just say something goes wrong, lets just say............I am 350 miles away from the place that did it, 2. I debated between the Predator and HP Tuner but I didn't think I had the time to learn the edits. Now I know that I am gonna have to make time. 'Specially since they have changed thier pricing structure! :smt038

UPDATE:
Crap! The freakin' shit-shakin is back with a code for P0300. Random/Multiple Cyl. Misfire. ???? Like I need this in winter when I have storage ins. on 'er. Oh, well time to call the dealership and get 'er fixed under warranty! :smt023 I'll make sure and post up what went ka-put just for reference. I can't believe what I've had to replace on this with ~10k :smt017 I guess it sitting on the showroom floor for over a year wasn't such a good thing??
