theres a few 11 and even 10 sec ls1s with ford 8.8s in them. Putting some big numbers down as well. the 8.8 should never be compared to a 7.5 in 10 bolt

arent the 12 bolts 8.875? that would make them just as strong as the 8.8s. there are many stangs running 9's and 10's on them. they are light like the 10 and 12 bolts and dont rob as much power as the 9"

the 8.8 conversion is on my list of things to fab up too.

I'm talkin' a STOCK 8.8. limited slip has a limited life, but the big deal is the axles. Stock Mustang 8.8's are 28 spline pieces; a hard lanuch on slicks with 300 RWHP will grenade the axles. Go to shorty gears (4.10's/4.30's) and the rear end will grenade on DR's.

To make it live, it's gotta have a 31 spline carrier; preferably an Auburn or an Eaton unit, but the Explorer 31 spline piece can be used in a pinch. After that, it needs the SVO reinfored cover plate.

After that - yeah. you can bang down 600 HP to the pavement and not worry about shooting the ring out the ass end.
