I was running a NOS competition plate at 175hp and a NOS proshot fogger with 200hp on a 327. I had no problem untill I split a bore, But I was running 10.88@130 in a 3700 pound car. this motor was built for NOS with forged crank, forged pistons, carrillos etc with solid roller cam 0.698 lift & 318 duration. It made no power under 4500rpm and I bounced off the limiter all the time in burnouts at 8600rpm. Then I put another 375hp in with NOS. The fact it lasted for 3 years like that without a freshen up shows it can be done reliably. I was at 650 rwhp on the NOS, not bad for a 1964 327 factory block and I knew I was on the ragged edge of breaking something. Do not let it detinate, and don't skimp on your fuel system and it will live untill you find the weekest link. To get to that point with any other power adder will cost a lot more and can destroy the street ability. My mate has a car that on the street is a pussycat and runs 15.0 all day on the motor. But has gone 12.8 with a 175 shot! turns off the bottle and drives home!
But the thing I love is the instantanious Power boost! down the motorway hard out in a 500hp car rocks, but 0.00001 of a second after you hit the button its a 700 hp hard out car and at 100mph will hit you into the seat hard. My blower couldn't do that!
I love NOS and am addicted! after you feel that hit you will be too!
Hope this helps!
