Casting #

Dont laugh at me, i found out that olds had 2 versions of the 307 a 140hp, 8:1 comp, vin Y, casting number 137, and a 180hp, 9.5:1 comp, vin 9, casting number 317. But what is a casting number???
Will the high performance heads fit my regular 307???

generally, yes.

but you may want to look into the years. sometimes an engine in a particualar year is slightly different than another year so some parts arent interchangeable.

Oh and make sure you have matching heads.. dont mix and match.

Yeah, the 180 hp version was the H.O. and was available in 442s and full size cars I think (minus shiny intake that my dad put on ours anyway). I will ask him more about it when he gets home. You might want to give Joe Mondello a call, he might even have a web site. I will dig up some info if you are really interested.
