Piston Choice

Hello,
The machine shop I want to use feels that Manley pistons are the best. I originally wanted either Diamond, JE, or Wiseco. I am running a 408 with 15 Lb. boost set up. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with the Manley pistons for the LS1 engines. Thanks.

Manley makes a good piston but some thing you just might want to think about is a coated piston from Mahle.
With the coating you can keep heat where it is need and reduce the friction in the cylinder

Also most shops will sell what have and use it is like safe thing to do. Some people do not tread to far out of the box

Thanks for the reply. I was told to have them coated. Most people are telling me there are better pistons out there. I am going to keep asking around. I was told that Mahle makes a nice piston. Thanks again.
