Speaking from experience (Ive owned my LS1 for 8yrs)
I've Done all the research seen what works and what doesn't
Heads and cams are great and you can make awsome power but you need a target Horse Power level and you need to stick with it.
400, 450, 500 Flywheel or Rear wheel HP? Stock LS1's are a couple bolt on's away from 400 at the flywheel. Pick the right Cam and with all the bolt on's you can make close to 400 RWHP and we still haven't added Heads yet.
But Honestly all the power in the world means NOTHING if you can't get it to the ground.
You can't go wrong with Chassis and Suspension mods first,
Beefing up the drive train should be next on the list.

it depends on your money situation.... but i really like the "heads/cam" route. that's what i did.... as far as intake. you already have the LS6 cause it's a 00+ F-body....

port the Throttle Body
Full Exhaust
cam...i would go with something larger than the Z06 cam. i have a thunder racing 224/224 cam and i wish i had a bigger one really

heads...Patriot heads. they are good...very inexpensive. but i actually lost 5 HP at my rear wheels over my stock heads (395 to 390 rwhp) but i also got low compression heads cause of future plans :-)

drivetrain...i would wait and upgrade this last...mine as well break it before you replace it....but the GM 10 bolts are on borrowed time with a stock motor to begin IMO

::top sorry to butt into this...but forced induction is going to be in my near future.... my question to LSs1Power.... do/did you have any problems getting your car tuned with 60# injectors? i read those are the largest you can go on stock PCM? just wondering if those being the "limit" if they still cause any problems? or if they're just a "bolt on and GO" kinda thing?

The largest can go with are 75lbs injectors. The tuning on the 60lbs injectors is really simple. It drives like a stock car. I have tried 42lbs and 60lbs and believe it or not the 60lbs felt alot better.

What is the limiting factor on injectors with the stock ECU?

Its all just pulse witdth and your ECU only controlls how long its open or closed, doest really care how much its flowing when its open.

Besides, what you loose with large injectors is resolution. The accuracy in which you can control the amount of fuel. Especially at lower flow rates. But injectors have gotten better and having the large injectors matched is imperative.

The stock ECU can only control High Impedence injectors. Since I'm running a stock ECU I'm limited to the largest high impendence injectors which are 75lbs i think from RC engineering. Some people install boxes that convert the amps to control a low impedence injectors which can go up to 160lbs.
