I just got done watch american muscle car, and they talked about the 1970 chevelle SS Ls6 454 with 450 horses. and i think that would be a great engine for my pick up. does any one know where i could get one, block head, guts ect. or anyone that knows anything about them, like if the where a specail block or if i could get a 454 block form the junk yard and put ls6 heads on it? let me know!!

Yeah that one is valuable indeed! The guy who owns the body shop that I'm gonna be callin today.... :smt048 has one in his Chevelle. Some how, they were able to get them from GM. There were about 6 found in some warehouse of GM. I'm not sure how many years ago but I'm pretty sure it's within the last 10.

But yeah, agreed also a regular 454, can still be a screamer!! :smt077

is there some reason you specifically want the LS6 454? there's several other BB options out there that can provide the same power and not near as hard to find. you could get a crate 454, 427, or 502 just to name 3. :smt023

I saw the story on that. Guy had trailers full of rare engines and parts and a bunch with complete cars. A bunch of SS's, and even a couple Yenkos. I wish I had that kind of money to buy stuff without even looking inside to make sure it's all in there
