Cam evaluation
I bought this cam on the advice of Isky. Some people tell me it is really big others say it is really small. i wonder what I should expect from it. I also added a set of stock ported and polished heads 11.02 to 1 compresion ratio and 30# injectors and 54mm throttle body. I sent my pcm to have it adjusted for the new mods. It really seems to pull hard to 6800 rpm the rev limiter setting. I am more interested in how it performs on the track than on main st.
Here are the specs off the manufacterer.
Intake timing Exhuast timing
duration 272 282
open 24 after tdc 73
close 68 after bdc 29
cam lift .337 .353
valve lift .505 .530
overlap 53 deg
@ .050 lifter rise
intake Exhaust
duration 225 before tdc 234
open .5 49
close 44.5 after bdc 5
Lobe seperation 112
Lobe center 112
1.6 Roller Rockers

I'm not sure about 11's like your sig but it looks like a really good cam, maybe a little wide on the lobe seperation but that's probably b/c it's fuel injected. :smt023

the lobe seperation is what alot of LT1 and LS1's look at the one im going to be getting has that as an LSA. heres the package im getting sometime... as soon as i can.
Heads & cam package will pull from 2,600 – 6,800 RPM and should make *410 to 430 RWHP with 36/42 lb. injectors, 58 MM T.B. or Monoblade, GOOD tuning, etc. This will idle similar to the GM847 but make about 10 more HP at peak and starts making HP sooner than the GM847. Requires 4.10 gears & 3,000 (or more) stall for best results.
LE3 Heads consist of:
Larger valve seats installed in Heads
2.05/1.60 Valves
Comp Bee Hive Springs
Titanium Retainers & 10° Locks
208 CC Intake Port
Milling
Cleaning
Assembly
Flow About 275/195
Ready To Bolt On
*The HP#’s mentioned are typical for an F-body with 6 speed, stock rear and with ALL of the complimenting parts mentioned.

Hey thanks it sounds like you have a good package on the way, i turned a 12.3 on a 100 shot before the last phase of mods so i am still hopeful. a 13.1 motor only.

Sounds like a lot of head and cam, the compression gonna back it up? I'd also think the HP #'s would be a little higher...is that with exhaust and all the accesories?

I just passed the state inspection and the car does not even have a smog pump, the cam lopes pretty good. The previous cam used to shut down at about 5800 this one pulls right to the rev limiter 6800.

for a street car that is a pretty big duration. the highest duration id go on a street car would be 240's... but the LCA is a 112 which make it much more gas efficient and allows less bleedoff which will keep better compression. The lift is good... not huge but a decent size for an LT1...So yes it is a big cam by my view. Good things you have some heads or you would be starving that thing of air...

yeah ive heard very good things about lloyd elliot and instead of going with the GM847 cam and just getting the heads i figured id get the whole package. yes that is with all the exhaust, and accessories.

go to this site and click on the one that says GM847 cam and thats basically what mine will sound like when i get everything.
