:smt017 ???? the 305 heads won't fit on a larger bore because the valves that are too small will hit the bigger bore how? you're right about the 350 heads(if they're 2.02/1.60's)valves hitting the 305 block. 1.94/1.60 heads will fit fine on a 305 though slightly shrouded near the cylinder walls.

don't use factory 305 heads, the only good thing they have to offer is a small combustion chamber. there are entirely too many affordable aftermarket and factory options for an excellent flowing head with a small combustion chamber, and if you're desperate for compression use a thin head gasket.

305 heads fit on a 350 nicely and i have seen it done on a low compression Blown motor
